Mine is dark blue metallic. Red is also nice. Like the model kit. It was fun and easy to build. Great kit. The only thing I've changed is the color of the rims: I painted them in an anthracite color.

Nice build. just found this, this exact kit was the first kit I ever did. when it was new in Hobby Lobby and there were some Mennonite people ( basically amish but they can drive and have gas powered things) in there and they said they did it and it went together well and they enjoyed building model cars so I bought it. It did not look that good but it got me into the model car building hobby.

I'm more a Shelby/Mustang aficionado and a die hard ford fan to my core, I bleed blue. But I'm an American car lover through and through, and I did like the look of the C5.

That's nice, Bob. I might treat myself to one of those. Excellent job on the paint, mate.

For some reason, this kit became stupid expensive ! Can't remember when I saw it under 50 bucks in a few years.

The same in Germany. This kit reaches the 30 Euros easily. The regular Coupe is also expensive here and when you want to buy the Z06 you have to grap deep in your pockets if you find one. So sad. Because all three are great kits. I liked to built them. On my personal taste the C6 is the best looking Corvette. I like the design a lot and for sure the power for a reasonable price. I like the development story behind the ZR-1 "Blue Devil". I was sad, when the sink hole happened and the original Blue Devil was swallowed. God thanks, they were able to restore it.
But there is a favorite in nearly every generation of the Corvette. The C5 Z06 (or hard top coupe) looks fantastic and has such a sexy rear end. The C4 ZR-1 is bad a$$ still today. In the family of the C3 I like the swap from chrome bumpers to polyurethan at most (1973/1974) because especially the 1974 looks more smoth without those seperate buffers. On the C2 I'm not really sure. I know the classic is the split window but somehow I'd prefer the 1965/1966 model more. At the C1 I like the transfer to the C2 most (1961/1962). SO each generation has it's charm. And when I take a peek to the low number produced equiped models, some are breath taking.

I checked one out, in the UK. £100 and it's open box, sealed contents. I think that I'll wait for a bit and see if I can bag a bargain?

I think, they won't because of the latest generation, they brought on the market.
