Using CA/BS to fill gaps in the aft fan room. 

The kit designers placed the aft deckhouse too close to the midships deckhouse by 6mm. The aft torpedo crane will not fit like this so I'll move the aft deckhouse to the correct position. 

Checking for clearance between deck house and #5 gun. 

Rough fit of the deck plug. 

The 2mm deck plug fashioned from sheet styrene. 

Lot of work. 

A disposable food tin was used to fashion a sanding mask to preserve the finish on the deck surfaces, temporarily held in place by double sided sticky tape. 

Practice fit of relocated deckhouse. 

The aft torpedo crane now has clearance for the moving parts, just like on the real ships. 

Holding down the motor whaleboats to install the rudders. The mounting surfaces were filed flat the ensure proper adhesion.
