This was Academy kit #12335 - USN SBD-2 "Battle of Midway". The kit came with three livery options, two of which were the pre-May 1942 insignia. There's no need to comment that the markings are not appropriate for the Battle of Midway. You wouldn't believe how many people feel the need to state that, like they're correcting an error. If it bothers you that much, when you're done counting the rivets, maybe write to Academy and they'll change the name for you!
