Blackburn Skua 1/72 Eastern Express 2010 box 1964 Frog tool

Just started a golden oldie which was originally a 1964 Frog tooling. As you can imagine, this is a very basic model with little detail and LOTS of flash. 🙂

After doing a bit of sanding on the fuselage, Vallejo Model Air interior grey green added. 🙂

Fuselage together, wings and tail plane added. A bit of filler here and there added. Fit of the wings is not great but seem ok now. 🙂

Bottom of fuselage and wings painted. Vallejo Model Air Insignia White, BS Medium Grey and Black. 🙂

Camouflage added to top. Hataka BS Extra Dark Sea Grey and Vallejo Model Air BS Dark Green used. 🙂

Sprayed with Vallejo gloss and then added decals. The Eastern Express decals weren't that bad at all, they moulded in with the rivets etc. 🙂

Propellor and canopy fitted. (The canopy was not a good fit at all). Matt varnish added. Rigging added finally.

I now declare the Skua completed.

I have an impression that strange look was a trademark of Blackburn designs. Take a look at Blackburn "Blackburn" (sic!) or Blackburn Blackburd 😄
