The third model in my Warhawk series is a P-40 L. For this I used a Hobbycraft kit, which in turn is based on the older AMT kit. It would be built as the well-known "Skipper". This aircraft of the 79th Fighter Group had to ditch off the Italian coast on 31 January 1944 during the American landing operation at Anzio. It was recovered on 14 January 2010 and can now be seen unrestored in a museum in Italy.

The P-40L is also riveted and now ready for painting. Details include a Vacu canopy from Rob Taurus, rack for the drop tank under the fuselage modified from Hasegawa parts and the addition of the missing quick fuel dump under the rear fuselage.

The third finished model, the P-40L Warhawk by Hobbycraft (ex AMT) was certainly the most elaborate in terms of construction.

Extremely well done!! Very nice extra details added and I like the weathering too.
