School swimwear (colloquially known as "sukumizu") is a type of swimwear intended for use in swimming lessons during compulsory education in Japan.
The original design originated in the 1960s and has since been replaced by more functional swimming costumes, but it is still an item that recalls youth and is represented in various illustrations and sculptures.

The "Sukumizu" swimming costume is good, but since we made it once last year at the same time, we decided to modify it into a more modern "swimming race" swimming costume.
The Sukumizu swimming costume has a U-shape at the neck of the back, while the swimming competition swimming costume has a more complicated structure.

I made it in the image of a Japanese indoor swimming pool, but I'm not sure if it looks like that.

The face was rounder than the illustration on the package, so I corrected it... but I'm not sure.

Sukumizu were often made of 100% polyester or nylon, which are not very elastic, and therefore have a vertical stitch line.
In modern swimming suits, the stitching lines are not in the same position and must be filled with putty.

I managed to paint the colour of my swimming costume.
I have cracks on her thighs, I dropped it and broke some parts, and I'm so close to finishing it that I'm losing heart.

I decided to equip her with a swim cap and goggles.
The logo on the swim cap is that of Sukhoi (hard to tell).

Breaking something is always discouraging. It happens to me all the time, most of the time in the last steps of finishing the project. 😄

Are the cracks on her thigh the reason you gave her the cap and goggles?
I was wondering, do you protect the paint of resin figures under some layers of varnish?

Thank you! I sometimes think that if I hadn't made that mistake, I could have finished it a bit earlier... but anyway, I'm glad I did.

Yes, I gave her a swim cap and goggles because the glued part between the parts broke.
I applied a couple of coats of clear paint to protect the coating, but it didn't dry completely, which wasn't good.
