When painting yellow prop tips, always prime with white first. 

After priming, use your choice of yellow with the airbrush. 

Vallejo Gray Primer is a very good match for the corrosion proof surface finish used by Hamilton Standard for their prop blades. 

Flat black is applied to the rear of the blades for anti-glare properties.
