On July 9, 1991, a KA-6D BuNo 152911 NH515 from VA-95 Green Lizards, operating from USS Abraham Lincoln had a notable incident. Lt. Keith Gallagher, the aircraft's Bombardier-Navigator (BN) experienced a partial ejection. His seat malfunctioned, sending him half through the Intruder's canopy. His parachute deployed and got tangled in the Intruders tail and this was what actually saved him during the successfull 1st wire trap Lt. Mark Baden performed.

My modelling skills are not that good to depict a broken canopy, a pilot with arms flailing in the wind and a parachute tangled on the tail. So let's say it will look like before taking off for that specific flight. Or maybe at the moment the seat ejects, which should be much easier. I might push this project up the queue and do a dual build with a Marine EA-6A, since both are Italeri kits with the same camouflage, but different squadrons and eras (nearly 20 years apart).
Thank you for your interest Hans and I'll keep you posted!

Unfortunately I have to cancel this build. I am not able to print the decals. So it will be build as one of the box decals.
