Heikki Lankinen AutorThe effect on the plates is done with decals. Not paint. Only tape that was used was used for measuring the round areas while planning and cutting the decals.

Heikki Lankinen AutorI printed A4 sheets and then cut small pieces from that. I had lighter decals for the grey areas and darker for the blue. here's one photo: Hyperion WIP | Album by Feikki (1:4105)

Heikki Lankinen AutorI planned carefully how to cut the pieces from the sheet and cut and test fitted them and carefully added them to the model. I used Vallejo's Decal medium and Decal set. Decal medium goes under the decal and softens it, helping to remove the air bubbles causing silvering. Decal set goes over it and helps hiding the edges.
