Missouri as in 1991, Operation Desert Storm. Combines the Trumpeter kit with significant scratch building, PE, and additional parts from Tamiya. Custom decal set produced in Adobe Illustrator.
This is the second twin of a two-ship build from 2023, showing the "beginning and end" of the Missouri's career. This was Missouri's final configuration.
Significant flaws and shortcomings in the Trumpeter kit were corrected as much as possible, including a new ECM housing at the top of the forward superstructure, reinforcements around the UNREP spar, and an entirely new rear deck to cover an incorrect teak/antiskid pattern from the box kit which showed a pattern more appropriate for sister New Jersey. The new deck was fashioned from thin plastic card, with surface details replaced using rod and spares.
