Everyday a new surprise from Mike... WOW 👍 Mike, your photograph is staggering. Which aquipment do you use?

Thanks guys 🙂 @Stefan I use a Canon DSLR, a couple of tungsten lights and one of those cloth light boxes. I make sure to set manual white balance for each shoot and then generally speaking I have to do minimal tweaking of the levels in Photoshop to get a true white background.

Great Camera's Canon, I swear by my 1000D, has everything I need and more. Since buying the remote control for it, has cut movement out completely for static subjects such as models, the plastic type I hasten to add... Phew!!!😳😄

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. In my opinion Canon build the best affordable DSLR cameras. I will buy one asap. The main thing seems to be the lighting.... and then learning by doing. I hope someday I will manage this. 😉

Thanks again for your kind comments. @Stefan, the white softbox takes a lot of the hassle out of the lighting set-up as it just diffuses everything and you end up with nice, soft shadows. One thing I have found though is that you do need quite a lot of light; I use a combined 400w of tungsten bulbs.

I use a white cloth photo box as well, and 800w (equivalent, they're actually the new daylight fluorescent bulbs). Put the camera on a tripod, go to Aperture Priority mode, and set the f stop at a high number (my camera maxes out at f/8) to maximize depth of field. Keep the entire model in focus. Best money I ever spent for model photos!

Album info
A bit of a frustrating experience, this one. The kit came with everything in the box - photo-etch, resin etc. and most of the parts went together OK, but it was as if Mirage had contracted the tooling of the fuselage and wings to two different companies who weren't allowed to communicate with each other. The wings had a rough pebbly texture and deep trenchy panel-lines, the fuselage was lightly scribed and with a smooth finish, and the fit of the two was 'somewhat problematic'.
