Finally I finished the assembly of the single groups and started to paint them. Hope you enjoy the pics

Looks very good so far Moritz. It certainly is a remarkable looking critter you are working on.

Thanks, I´m glad that you like it. And thanks for the vocabulary in your post too, it hit me upon the idea to name that Diorama: "What an ugly critter". Cheers mate

Thank you bart. They are made with the paper of choclate candy (Storck Riesen). I wrinkled up the paper and fixed it with white glue thinned with water. It is a very easy way to create leather immitation

I found back my mojo on this project. The base is structurally complete, after one day of drying I can add the primer. I will keep you current

The critters back!!!! I was wondering what had become of this build Moritz. I'm pleased it's back on the road again, eerm, I mean back in the ditch again. I'm looking forward to the finished dio.

@Gorby: welcome back aboard, I´m glad that you are still here
@Rui: You´re welcome mate
I was able to spend some extra time in my mancave, so the work on the base could go on.
I primed and painted the base, after that I glued some gras on and build some trees, sorry for the bad pictures, next ones will be better.
Next I will complete the paintjob on the RSO and the telegraph pole, after that I can start with weathering, figure painting and adding some stuff around the RSO which lays around after the GIs looted the RSO.
Hope you can enjoy the pics, and at last one question to the native english speakers around here. Is "What an odd critter?" a correct question which a GI could have asked?
Thanks in advance

Hi Moritz, how could I miss this gorgeous build.... Great Dio and model. Did you use real leather for the drivers bench?
31 January 2017, 05:54

Hi Norbert, no they are made with the paper of chocolate candy (Storck Riesen). I wrinkled up the paper and fixed it with white glue thinned with water.

Hi Moritz: Referring to your question, I believe 'critter' is more north American than British, so I would think it is likely for a GI to call it a critter, although George Bernard Shaw once said: 'England and America are two countries divided by a common language', so I could be wrong. Being English myself I think that the full phrase "What an odd critter" sounds a little too English. Perhaps "Strange critter" or "weird looking critter" might be more suitable. Hopefully one of the American mates will notice this thread and give their opinion. Hope that helps.

Thank you Gorby, I think "Weird looking critter" will win the race.
I finally finished the RSO and the basic weathering. Next comes the figure and the equipment.
Cheers

It just keeps getting better and better Moritz. I'm particularly impressed with the bush and the vegetation – it looks real!

Thank you mates.
@ Gorbygould
The Impression of the plants is less my merit, the foliage from SCM Brand: Silhouette

This project is finally finished, I hope you can enjoy the pics even they are in poor quality. I will add better ones when I can take them outdoors. cheers

awesome details and paint, congratulations. i need to get some of those Storck Riesen to make leather areas, they look incredible.
25 July 2017, 09:33

Wow Moritz, respekt!
25 July 2017, 09:52

Wow! That's a stunning result Mortiz, top level modelling. The attention to detail, painting and weathering is absolutely remarkable! And I love the hedgehogs. 🙂
25 July 2017, 10:50

Thank you mates. Much appreciated
@spanjaard
They are available in your area aren't they? If not send me a PM with your adress and I am going to send you some papers
@Holger
Ja der Bausatz ist super, würde ich sofort wieder bauen bzw. Mal schauen was die Jungs noch raus bringen.
@gorby
Thanks for your help with the dioramas name. And I' m glad that you like the hedgehogs, placing animals in my dioramas became something like a signature
25 July 2017, 14:57

thanks a lot Moritz, offer is really appreciated!!, i have to try to find them here, Stork has a company here in NL, so they must be sold somewhere! 🙂

Great looking diorama Moritz 👍 This one inspired me to start to build a diorama myself (something involving an M4A2).
26 July 2017, 11:53

Got this Diorama in my hands today and decided to make some better photos. I hope you can enjoy.
Cheers

Nice to see this one again Moritz.
I still think it looks weird. 😉
(Although I'd love to build one in 1/72).

Great work!
The RSO is a great object, always interesting to see one of them!
Especially if it was implemented so well😀
