While waiting for the new pitottubes of the Fitters I started another duo build. When I build one I will never build the other in the stash also I think, so just like the Fitters I will build both at once.

Finally made a start with these 2! Cockpit parts a quite nice OOB. Only added some belts and ip's. Sure there is room for more detail but these will be 2 (rather)quick builds.

It's always nice to follow your duo builds Erik. Great looking cockpits and I am looking forward to see more 👍

Thanks mates! I think that I will make all double kits in the stash at once.. It worked well with the Fitters. And it doubles the empty spaces in the stash 😄
23 November 2016, 20:03

Straightforward build so far, only the cowling gave some trouble. Why did Hasegawa made it a 4 piece part..
4 December 2016, 21:56

Finally some progress on this duo.. after nearly 2 months of no modelling at all..
28 June 2017, 20:26

Will do my best Wim. One will be a R-2 in desert camo and the other, a B-2, in the standard splinter scheme

So after 2 weeks of r&r at the French mediterranean coast It's back to the man cave again! Both Stuka's received their paintjobs and are ready for the gloss coat. All the rlm80 blotches were time consuming but I think they look good enough.
27 July 2017, 08:26

Oh what do we have here? Nice duo Eric!!! The africa blotches looks very nice, did you use a template?
27 July 2017, 09:19

Thanks mates, no Holger just by hand. Time consuming but nice work, just shook my hand a couple of times to keep the blood flowing 😄
27 July 2017, 09:42

Looking very nice mate !
i Had a small hangover from yesterday evening meeting 😮 good to have you back in action.
28 July 2017, 21:00

Added some decals lately. Made a "F" from a "H" for the desert Stuka since I don't like to build a Stuka that is a museum piece.
3 August 2017, 21:25

Thanks mates! Much appreciated👍 Hope to finish them both soon.
5 August 2017, 14:11

This paint effect is just so impressive when it looks as good as what you have achieved here Erik. I love it. 👍
7 August 2017, 06:30

Thanks mates! They are both almost done but the aerial of the desert Stuka has broken for the 6th time 🙁
29 August 2017, 16:00

Very nice work 👍 About the aerial, Max you can insert a 0,3 mm brass rod pin to fix it?!
29 August 2017, 17:47

I have a 0.3mm rod but it's too thick... 0.2 would be perfect I think but I don't have one. So I need a replacement or just try to glue it again...and again..and again 😄
30 August 2017, 18:29

Thanks mates! Antenna is fixed again and even attaching a wire from the tail to the antenna was succesfull, yes!! Hopefully it survives painting of the wire too.. If so, the Stuka's are finally completed👍
1 September 2017, 11:36

fancy couple your stukas 👍 👍 👍
the with the antenna I had with my Hasegawa Ju 87 also experience,
Bonding did not need any success, the antenna wires were against the stable shape
I have made the new from an old check card
in some pictures one can recognize the awkward attempted repair, the material of the check card was stable enough, as the last pictures show

Thanks mates! They are finished but I still haven't had the time to take some end pictures! Stay tuned😉 Really appreciate your comments 👍
2 September 2017, 14:16

I am really impressed with the way the canopy frames turned out. Crisp, sharp and clean. Not easy to do. But overall, a most convincing build. 👍
Salute. 🙂
2 September 2017, 15:20

tada ! 😄
nice looking pair Erik 🙂
naturally I favour the yellow nose scheme but you've done the desert camo well 🙂
4 September 2017, 21:52

Thanks mates!! Yes finally some luck with the antenna.. But it's really fragile so I have placed him in the display cabinet, never to be touched again 😄
5 September 2017, 05:36

Lovely work Erik! Especially the desert version looks amazing. Any recommendations for these kit, if Im gonna build one in the future - so weak spots etc?
5 September 2017, 06:29

That's a nice couple of birds... beautiful paintjob, especially the desert camo with regards to the patience for applying the dots, but the other one is surely no less
5 September 2017, 06:30

excellent work on those stukas Erik, beautiful both of them. the desert camo is simply fantastic
5 September 2017, 07:32

Thanks mates, much appreciated! The Desert Stuka is my favorite too. I maybe could have give them both a more used look but to be honest I liked them they way they are now. And after the pain with the antenna I was very much done with them 😄
@Soren, well, don't break the antenna😢 And the canopy which comes in 4 pieces is not designed to be displayed open by Hasegawa. You have to cut in the front sliding canopy so it fits around the antenna. Further there are no real challenges in this kit, at least nothing comes to mind at the moment.
5 September 2017, 08:05

Two very nifty looking Stukas, you can be proud Erik!....the idea of building two at a time is really appealing too
5 September 2017, 09:03

The idea for doing dual builds is catching on, seen a number of people doing this recently 🙂
5 September 2017, 09:06

Thanks mates. Yes, a duo build decreases your stash faster. If you build faster than you buy....but that would be a miracle 😄
5 September 2017, 15:16

Haha, building kits faster than you buy them is an urban myth😉 😄
