I've just started using oil wash too, for aircraft panel lines. Should have tried it much sooner but I was scared to try any "oil" based stuff. It does work better than the acrylic for panel lines. I like it much better, it gives you more time to work, the acrylic dries too fast, but it can have other uses too.

never used the acrylic wash, i was thinking on trying, but after what you just said... i think i wills stick to oil based 🙂
maybe acrylic wash is better when you paint with enamels... but i have not done that since my early modelling times....
