I'm not sure if it was the hot summer sun, but I went back to my beginnings in model making and start a tank. I choose Attack's scale 1/72 Pz.Kpfw. III. The kit is nicely done and easy to build. There are a few detailes washed out, like the pistol ports and the eyelets at the turret, but the rest is fine with nice detailed and easy to assmble tracks.
Figures are Munich Kits, package and stuff Black Dog.

In comparison with my latest finished project Apollo 11 - nope😄

Thank you Lode 🙂
Yes, the details of a lot of scale 1/72 is very nice, but I'm impressed about the quality of those resin figures!
Cheers Christian

Looking nice with all the stowage 👍 Never trusted the resin+plastic-combo for the tracks on these Attack Pz.IIIs but people seem to get nice results with them... any observations on your part?

You're welcome Finn.
@Tom B., thx a lot 🙂 About the tracks, no problems at all. I just cut off the sprockets on the driving wheels along the contour of the resin track for perfect fit. The plastic parts can be bend easily and the overall fit is really nice.

I recently start the paintwork. Vallejo German Gray as a basecoat and Sand Yellow in light shades from dark to bright tones. Now the gear and stuff.

Looks really good Christian. I have mixed feelings about Attack kits, but your build is restoring my faith 👍
2 December 2023, 13:24

Thank you Alec 🙂
Their moulds are not es exact and sharp as other brands, but the overal look is really nice and in this small scale you will not notice it once painted.

Basic painting is done and all comes together quite nice. There were some issues with the fitting accuracy of the tracks (four segments on each side) but it was easy to fix.
So next step, washes and highlights using oils 🙂

Beautiful painted PZ 3. The stowage is quite superb. Another masterclass in modelling. 🙂

WIP on the figures for my Pz.III. Basic painting is done and it's time to add shadows and lights.

To simulate the worn out desert brown I painted the basic colour german gray along all edges and contours. Along the boundaries a thinn band of deck tan was painted. I tried the deck tan band for the first time and I am corious how it will come out after some oil washes.
The turret is done, next the hull.

Excellent work 👍At first glance I thought it was the 1/35. It deservers a nice base 🤔
24 February 2024, 19:14

Wow, just excellent. Looks like the original figure complement was scrapped and a new crew arrived. Maybe because Desert Fox himself dropped by? 😄
24 February 2024, 21:25

Thank you Spanjaard, Alec and Rui 🙂
@Alec, nah they sent them out for a walk while the big boss has no clue what to do next 😄
