Started my first vacu formed kit. Curious about this journey and what kind of pleasant surprises will wait. 🙂

Ha -- 😄 crazy, but I thought at least I should have tried it once...Thx for your wished Mirko. I guess I need it.

Loving this! I actually just finished my second vac. kit, also a Broplan. An ATR 72...Pictures on here somewhere

looking good so far.Started a Wellesley couple of years back, horrible kit ,its in a box somewhere.LOL
5 December 2020, 17:10

Chris - I just check out your ATR 72. Great result. Luckely I can skip interior work. But I see already troubles coming along with engine cowling and wheel bay - similar to your ATR kit. This portion of work will become pretty challenging.
5 December 2020, 20:17

David - fingers crossed that this one will not end the same way - but the more I progress the more I understand why this happend 🙂
5 December 2020, 20:19

Hi guys - thx for your coments and your "likes". That's good for staying motivated with this bird 😉
19 December 2020, 14:21

@ Chris,
and all followers of this build - let me report: Engines done! 🙂 some pic's attached
26 December 2020, 20:42

Sanding continues,....I have meanwhile joint the fuselage and rear section.
5 January 2021, 11:10

Some major plastic surgery here! Brings back memories...
Looking good!
5 January 2021, 14:04

Thank you Chris & Cuajete for your comments. Motivation on this kit is going up and down periodically 😉
So your appreciation is welcome! thx
7 January 2021, 16:59

Great job, Juergen! Looks like a lot of sanding, but the fuselage looks good!
7 January 2021, 19:01

Thx Gordon. YES: a lot of sanding, and I'm afraid that it is not over yet 😉
20 January 2021, 19:04

a little bit of an update on this build - I joint tail and horzontal fins with the fuselage and did some scribing exercise.
20 January 2021, 19:06

How come I missed this? My 295 is still waiting, let's see what awaits me 😄
20 January 2021, 19:49

Have you considered filling the parts, so they get stiff? Like here:

21 January 2021, 15:49

and...OMG! potez452's documation is great.
and...YES. I thought about filling them. But I was not sure what material will make it stiff but not too heavy. As my Tamiya putty was eating away the styrene in the areas where i used it to support the bulkheads that I put into my craft ...I gave up this idea. I will check what potez452 use, may quite useful for the wings...THANKS
21 January 2021, 20:30

Was able to work a bit on the landing gears. Don't ask me details,...... 🙁
26 January 2021, 19:45

Looks brilliant, remember this is Broplan, even worse than A-Model😉
26 January 2021, 20:53

Had a similar problem with pz2 LuchsI made a jig to put on the chassis to level everything up when I glued suspension arms on.
29 January 2021, 14:55

@Lukasz:
wingspan 35,5[cm]
lenght 29[cm]
beside my PBY Catalina build (modellversium.de/gal..atalina-academy.html) this one is the biggest plane in my collection by now (I am mainly in 72 scale).
But an C130 Hercules & a Dornier JII Wal is in my stash too.
23 February 2021, 20:19

thx Lukasz & David. I am ready for a layer of primer now. I'm curios how this "treated" surface with all the putty, sanding, etc,....turns out then. Pic's will follow asap.
24 April 2021, 20:15

Congrats on the tail recovery. It keeps looking better with each update. 👍
2 May 2021, 07:43

Hi guys - Some minor progress to be reported....all decals on and sealed now. A lifgt oil wash applied too. Looking forward to find the time to dim the surface down and to add the last pits & pieces.
22 May 2021, 19:49

As summer time is slowing down my build process it took some time to post a new status. Now I added some pictures of detailing work which I have done the last few weeks. I see the finish line come close.
24 June 2021, 08:18

Incredible work done so far - truly remarkable dedication and effort that you put into this near tabula rasa of a kit! Very much looking forward to the finish! 👍👍👍
26 June 2021, 15:59

Finally - Done with my first vaccuform experiment. The Casa CN-235 was finished in July, but was not able to take some pictures. Now - here they are....
cheers
29 August 2021, 20:09

Oh man, this is exquisite 👍 love the cockpit decal - the hand reminds me the "Titanic" movie 😉
29 August 2021, 20:11

Dir gebührt eine Medaille alleine für die Tatsache, dass du in der heutigen von 3D-Hitec & Co dominierten Modellbau Welt einen Vacu baust!!
30 August 2021, 05:28

Absolutely great result Jürgen! 👍 Looking forward to see it live in Ried! 😉
30 August 2021, 07:00

Fantastic result and better job.
I hope that some brand release the CN-235 in plastic.
Congrats!
30 August 2021, 19:37

Hi @all - many thanks for your kind words. It was fun to make experience with vaccu technique. Not sure if this was my first & last attempt....
@Dietmar & Harry - The bird will be there and I am looking forward for the exhibition too. After the Covid break it will be good to meet some mates and checking how productive they have been in the last 2 years. Hope the current figures will not spoil it at the end. Fingers crossed.
30 August 2021, 20:25

Thx Alexander - Vaccu was a challenge, but interessing and from a distance fun too.
26 October 2021, 15:58

Hard to believe that this once was a vacu-kit. Just to brave such a task deserves respect. I bow my hat for the incredible result.
28 October 2021, 15:20

This looks stunning. And you make it look so easy. I've got this kit to do an Irish Air Corps one, was going to start it this weekend. Not so sure now!
18 February 2022, 22:43

Thank you Roy for your nice comments. And I hope you have started the kit. It's alot of work and effort, but it is worth it - you will have a very rare model on the shelf then,....let us know how it turn out! cheers
21 February 2022, 13:19

What a nice tutorial ! And what a result !!!
I own a few vaccu kits which I never dared tackle. Maybe now I shall...
