Thanks! It is too bad the Pershing arrived in Europe too late to participate with more than a few tanks. If they had, I am sure they would have done well against the last of the German armor.

Yes it is. It was my second Takom kit. The first was a lot easier - the V-2 rocket. Thanks for you comment, James.

Album info

The M46 had quite a war in Korea. The first ones landed in the third month of the war in August 1950 and proved effective against the Russian T-34. They equipped many units and were still in service there is great numbers when the war ended with the armistice in August 1953. I always thought the tank exuded a sense of extreme power (although it is a “medium” tank). There were still a lot of them on display here and there when I arrived in Korea for my tour in the mid-1960’s. The ROK’s (Republic of Korea Army) even had some dug in and bore sighted near the DMZ acting as pill boxes designed to slow the North Koreans down if the ever came south. The 24th Infantry Division painted their tanks with the yellow tiger motif. It shows what you can do when you have air superiority.
