Was this like some kind of aerodynamic test without a working engine on the smaller plane?

When the Ju 88 was converted into a Mistel, it was fitted with an emergency cockpit and flown to the task force. There, the emergency canopy was then exchanged for the explosive charge.
My model shows this configuration: Ju 88 G-1 with an emergency canopy from a Ju 88 A-4.
