January 13, 2025Pilot and ground crew figure kit box.3
January 13, 2025Figures assembled. Nice fit with only a few gaps and irregularities which will need filling for painting at a later date.4
January 14, 2025Cockpit area painted with Valljo Flat Brown, Black Red, Black, and Smoke, and decals for the belts added. It is ready to be fitted into the two halves of the plane itself.

January 14, 2025Interior of cockpit painted with Vallejo Model Colour Flat Brown and Black Red, with Smoke used for the throttle.6
January 14, 2025Detail of the console panel, which was painted Vallejo Dark Sand as a replacement for the Radome colour it should have been. The dials were outlined with Natural Steel and once dry, decals were affixed.7
January 15, 2025Both halves of the plane are together with the tail assembly fitted, as well as the first parts of the engine. The fit was excellent overall but care is needed when putting the halves together as there is only one joining pin at the rear of the model. Filling and light sanding was required at the front of the model both on top and underneath as these did not close entirely.8
January 15, 2025Model is ready to be masked off for the main tricolore paint scheme to be applied, with the plan for the central white part to be painted first as it is the lighter shade.9
January 18, 2025Tricolore painted with Vallejo Royal Blue, Offwhite and Red (70.947), with Black Red making up the rim of the cockpit. It took several coats of the white and red to cover but the blue went on in one coat! The engine has been painted Vallejo Black for drybrushing with aluminium at a later date.10

January 18, 2025Above view of the tricolore paintjob. Next step is to build and paint the wings.12
January 21, 2025Wings have been fitted and painted Vallejo German Camouflage Beige as a base coat. Engine was drybrushed and cover painted with Vallejo Natural Steel (metallic). The landing gear has been fitted and was quite fiddly to get looking right, but it is now pretty solid after being left overnight to dry.13
January 21, 2025Closer view of the engine and landing gear. Some filling with green stuff might be required around the wing struts as they do not sit flush to the surface. Paintwork is still a bit ratty in places but that can be fixed when everything is built.14
