Started by gluing in M5 nuts for pedestal 

 

 

The kit comes with the hull made of two parts. Quite a lot of work was needed to make the joint decent quality 

Started adding PE as well as few scratchbuilt details here and there. Also hawse pipes were drilled and formed, portholes corrected 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Spray booth slightly too small 🙂 But the solution was simple - to remove side panels. 

Hull primed 

 

 

 

Some extra details for enclosed focsle deck 

Enclosed deck prepared to be covered with boat deck. Not much of these details will be visible. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Attaching boat deck seems easier than it actually is. The main challenge was making seamless top part of the PE rear panels. 

The biggest challenge was getting rid of the seam in the upper part of the PE rear panels. Some details were lost in the process and had to be recreated. 

 

Added scratch built davit and some piping 

Portholes in this Trumpeter kit is wrong on starboard side. Here they are drilled in correct places. 

 

 

At the time when the hull seemed to be ready for painting, I decided that I want more details and accuracy… So I corrected the shape of splinter shields and added triangle stiffeners. I dont know why… 🙂
