F-16 A Cockpit, Esci
Comentarios

Cool. I have one in my stash from Italeri (as the F-104 cockpit)

Nice Block 5 cockpit! I also had one in the stash but I've sold it.. A damn shame..🙁

I like the way you've done this Ulf 🙂
Just put a bid on this kit and I may get it, if so this is handy ref 🙂

Ulf, a most intricate model to build and to "get right", especially when positioning all the switches and decals. well done mate. 👍

I had this kit as a kid --

and saw this a little while later but my pocket money didn't reach at the time but I always wanted one --

and now, after all these years I might just get one ! 😄
might have to get that F-16 kit again too 🙂

Don't know how to add reviews but I found this one 🙂

THX @ all for honoring this artefact of my activities in the 90s! I agree, a 1/12 pilot would be great!👍

Hi Ulf, I don't know anything about jets ... but your cockpit looks really amazing! Stunning what was possible so long time ago - when all of the "modern" techniques were not common. Really great work. I really like the helmet just hanging there ...

THX Maik, yeah, I always get nostalgic feelings when I look on this model. It was the era when washing with oil color mixes and drybrushing was the utmost you could do to get a realistic look... 😉
I still take that cockpit with me to some exhibitions and always get a nice feedback about it.

THX Cristian!🙂
@Burkhard & Christian: Hmmja... aber dat is doch nur ein Gag. Eine Pilotenfigur, die in dieses Cockpit passt wär schon fein!

Hi Ulf! Excellent work on this golden Oldie! These kits are seldom seen to be built. You made the most out of this one.Very well done!

I'm glad I dug this album out the depths for you Ulf !!
It seemed like 4 comments was far too few for this lovely bit of nostalgia 😄

Very well done Ulf. Looks like the pilot just climbed out and down the ladder 👍

Thank you, Steve!🙂 I just checked it. The seat is still warm. 😉

Beautiful, Ulf! If this style is from a different era, as you say, then I really miss that era. I am not experienced enough to see how "modern" models are done, but do they really...can they really possibly look better than this? Amazing piece!

The quite geriatric kit by Esci has also been offered by Italeri in the meantime and you can still find it from time to time.
I like it as a very interesting and unconventional model so I would like to present it here.
The cockpit complies with the F-16 A as it has only one MFD. Later units got three of them (of course every reader knows that! 😉 ).
I painted my one completely with brush and Humbrol Enamels; in a time when the internet was still lying in its swaddling clothes and it was not that easy to gather tons of photos and information within seconds. I tell that as precaution before the honorable community of military aviation enthusiasts starts pleasurably nitpicking this model for various mistakes in the color of knobs and switches. I only had the instruction sheet and some magazine photos of an F-16 C available, so I had to "interpolate" here and there.
There is also a kit of the F-104 cockpit of the same provenience which of course would make a nice model as well but in this case I abstained fro
