Hello Björn, I build the kit in 2005 or 2006 as CVE-11 USS Card. I just remember it was a straightforward build without any big problems. I used some GMM PE for radar, mast and railing as well as some Tom's modelwork to detail the airwing.
If I would build her today, I would add some more PE or resin details, like Oerlikon's Bofors, new search lights, rafts etc.

I'm looking forward to your progress, and again a very promising start 👍
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The hangar deck was varnished with Vallejo colors. Light gray on the walls and 5-N Navy Blue for the floor. In addition, the aces were attached to the lower platforms. The rails already hang on the platforms and only have to be bent upwards after painting. Whether good or not will show up during construction and painting. Various doors on the platforms will be added. The carriers in the bow area were glued to the upper deck to facilitate the painting.

Very nice and sharp work with the tiny PE 👍 That comes out really nice.

that's a nice build so far. Makes me think about Marijn Van Gils little gems...
Can I ask why you will bend the railings after complete mounting and not before? I suppose it is for easier painting, but isn't there a big risk for damaging them?

That's a risk that I will go. I can only try and others advise against it or to do the same.

Album info
This is the model of the CVE-9 USS Bogue, the name of the Bogue class under the escort carrier in the 2nd WK. The kit comes from Tamiya 31711 CVE-9 USS Bogue and is mainly supplemented with aces of FIVE STAR FS700025 USS Bogue Aircraft Carrier Upgrade Set for Tamyia and possibly Tom's Modelworks # 710 Escort Carrier w / Rails. The model will be in the Measure 22 paint of 1942/1943.
After 20 years this will be my first ship again and with accessories. So have a look, if one or the other may not run smoothly. The challenge of Five Star will be a great challenge, as the enclosed construction guide is rather a rough overview, but does not have all the parts available. A lot of research is necessary here.
