This is the kind of kit that can be built fast due to the number of parts. Decals are good quality and it comes with the swastikas (in 2 halves)

The front prop has a flaw. One of the blades is inverted, which is easily fixed by cutting it and glueing it back in the right position. Color scheme is RLM70, 71, 65. Canopy is perfect.

Revell Heinkell He 219 1/72. Tooling is from 1966. Many problems such as sink marks (plenty) and flash. Color scheme is RLM76 and motling cammo is RLM75, both Italeri paints.

Cockpit is pretty devoid of any detail and having such a large canopy, I had to scratch build most of it. Decals had yellowed since this kit is from 1983, but after leaving them on the bedroom window for about a month, they looked brand new.

It is definitely a tail sitter, so lots of lead had to be added to the nose. I have another He-219 in my stash by Dragon which is way better than this one. Looking forward to build it.

Revell Lockheed P-38 M-6 LO Lightning 1/72 of 421st Night Fighter Squadron, Atsugi Ab, Japan, July 1945 flown by 1/LT. John Brewer and 1/LT David Hopwood. Original tooling is from 1976. This particular kit is a rebox from 2009. Two versions are available, the other one is a more common P-38. I've built this one because I found it pretty peculiar.BTW, I have a regular P-38 in my stash I intend to build in a near future. The kit is pretty detailed, considering it is a kit from 1976. Panel lines are raised with no rivets, Interior is okay and you can build the model with the engines exposed.

The engines are well detailed and can be left exposed. The same goes for the nose, showing the machine guns and ammo. Color scheme is mostly Matt Black with some parts painted Anthracite. A lot of lead was added to the nose and nacelles, since this model is a real tail-sitter.

Airfix B-26 Marauder C 1/72. Tooling is from 1973. Very detailed for the year. Decals are provided for two options: The Yankee Guerilla - USAAF - D-Day and South African Air Force - Italy 1944-45.

This model was released in 1986, a rebox only. The plastic is very brittle, so it breaks easily. A hard build, I would say.

Panel lines originally were raised with no rivets, but I rescribed them. It has a detailed bomb bay. Colors are Humbrol 155 Olive Drab and Italeri FS35237 Flat Dark Ghost Grey.

This kit was released in 1995, but was tooled in 1956, Since it's a wooden plane there's no abundance of rivets, as it was common back then, which is why I bought it. Decals are provided for 2 versions (RAF & post war Swedish Air Force).

The plastic is very brittle and the fit of the fuselage and wings isn't good. Interior is pretty poor so I improved it by scratch building the radio and extending the cockpit floor. Colors are Humbrol 64 light grey, 30 dark green and 33 matt black.

The new tool Bristol Blenheim by Airfix. Nice model to build. The only issue is the canopy which comes in 3 parts and the fit is a little hard.

Decals by Cartograf are awesome. Easy to apply and with a touch of Microset/Microsol they look as if they've been painted on the fuselage.

The new tooling Bristol Beaufighter TF.X by Airfix. Another great model to build. I've found no issues whatsoever. The fit is perfect and the decals by Cartograph are easy to apply. I've airbrushed the model with Humbrol 123 and 90.

One of the things I liked most about this model is the assembly of the props. Two options are available: No. 144 Squadron, RAF Banff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and No. 27 Squadron,RAF South East Asia Command, Burma. Mine is the first option.

Thanks Gorby, Dave and Guy for the comments. The B-26 took me a long time to build. Lots of problems came up. Old kits are challenging. Now I'm building another old kit: the Airfix Short Stirling 1/72. Although being older than the B-26, I'd say it's not as bad as I expected.

I bought mine on eBay from a lady in the U.S. (Maine). Paid 10 USD. It comes with a tractor (David Brown) and its driver, a bomb trolley and 16 bombs. It will make a nice diorama. On the Airfix site it says it's out of stock. I've been trying to improve the model by scratch building some details such as the cockpit and the wheel wells which are devoid of details. I'll post pictures of the model when it's completed. The Short Stirling is an impressive bomber, I've always admired it. it's a real shame that no one has survived the war.There's this Stirling project going on in Britain. I believe some enthusiasts are trying to rebuild one from parts found in different places. Tx for the comments Dave.
