Built this originally as a gift for a friend of mine about 15 years back, as he had one.
About 7 years ago, one of the exhaust tips broke off, so I took it back to fix it. Jokingly, he asked to give it bigger turbos, and since I had some HD resin turbos in my stash I decided to grant his request, and it snowballed from there.
- Bigger turbos begets bigger inter-coolers (scratch-built) to manage the temp. increase.
- With more power, can't let the handling along, so front and rear shock tower races were scratch-built.
- Naturally upgraded brakes would be needed with the increased performance
- Changed the battery to a Li-Ion type (fully scratch-built) to make space under-hood.
- With all that extra heat under-hood, and the car set up for track use, going to need a fire extinguisher, so added one of those (scratch-built).
.....and so on and so forth.
And since the car will be displayed with the hood off, I made a rack to hold and transport the hood. Rack was scratch-built from strip styrene, metal rod, with
