This is me. What else can I say. Just another guy with to much time on his hands and always getting into mischief which of course gets me in trouble with my wife. So I build scale models and dioramas. Mostly military but I like civilian aircraft and old pickups. Vintage cars and trucks. Hope to learn more form members here at ScaleMates.

Hi everyone. I'm the GimpyNinja. An affectionate term give me by my kids though most people call me Jeff. I'm and ex fire fighter paramedic. I worked for the Calif Dept of Forestry but I am disabled now due to a back injury which left me with severe permanent nerve damage. Now I have to much time on my hands an always in trouble so I took to building scale models and dioramas. I am new to the fine art of scale modeling but not building them. As a kid I built many plastic models which where shot, burned and blown to bits. Topical story of most firefighters when they were young. But now I am working on a couple of builds just as a show piece. One is an AH-64A Apache inspired by a couple of builds I saw on Scale Rotor website. The other is a Bell "Huey". This one has a more personal draw because it played a big role in my life as a firefighter. It will require to scratch building work and custom painting and lettering. Well that's about all I have to say for now. Hope to see you all around and learn more about this awesome hobby.
