I found the kit in a shop at the viennese model show. The kit is original from 1975 and all parts are in a great condition. Currently I am building my Messerschmitt BF109 and I didn‘t plan on starting another project parallel to it but I couldn‘t resist starting this kit. In total it‘s my third kit I am building and my first tank kit ever. First I thought on buying some aftermarket parts like the engine compartment and other stuff but for now I am just trying to get to a good result without alot of aftermarket stuff (I will save the aftermarket money for a newer kit in the future). I am not sure about the tracks however, they are vinyltracks but look great, especially for their age, I think I‘ll try working with them and if I don‘t like them, I will buy aftermarket tracks.
The decals are of course also from 1975, which means that they are likely not usable any more, thus I will get a new decal sheet for sure.
Let‘s talk about the kit in general. The instructions are lovely, I really like the old tamiya style, there are many reference photos that show how certain parts might have been bent or scratched over the use. The parts have a bit of flash but thats totally fine for that age, probably even better than most new revell kits 😄 Especially the detail on the figure is outstanding, I was really surprised about that. The engineering is also very thought-thru, its hard to glue most things wrong in place, due to the shapes of the connecting parts.
