Personal interest:
The F/A-18 was a multi-role aircraft, but since the US and Allies maintained air superiority over Iraq since the opening days of Operation Desert Storm, it was most often used in the strike role, particularly since there were no diplomatic restrictions to launching strike missions from a US Navy aircraft carrier. This model represents a F/A-18C of VFA-113 armed for a strike mission on heavily defended Iraqi national infrastructure.
