Album info

Well, the kit from Academy is a top-notch from the technological standpoint: it has the thinnest lines and lost of rivets and other tiny details, so the surfaces look "grainy". Moreover, it features LEGO-style assembly: most parts can be fixed with no glue, and each part is cut to be painted without masking. If you're a complete novice, you will get the highest level of the model for your skills, because you can avoid a lot of errors and missing steps: all parts are painted as a whole in either Medium Gunship, black, white, or steel, and are assembled right after that.

Obviously, it saves you a lot of time, but at the same time, for this "LEGOesness" you pay the price: there is only one sequence of assembly, and gaps sometimes are too wide. Also, the assembly instruction gives you very little information about colors, and the decal instruction has some errors and missed steps. All in all, for medium skills, a more traditional engineering of the kit would be better - the model will look more realistic for the scale.

For the model I've chosen a mixed loadout of one high-caliber GPS bomb for interdiction and smaller bombs of two types for casual CAS along the way. I was referring to the website F-15e.info which is available only from the web.archive today.
