I've been planning to assemble an early Spitfire for a long time, but with a wooden screw and a flat lamp, I bought a kit from KR for this.
Early models of Spitfires have an interesting black-and-white color scheme from below, apparently, on your model, the black-and-white niches for the chassis remained after repainting.

Yes Denis, normally it should have been white and black color for identification. But apparently later during the war around June 1940, RAF Sky is to be the color for the underside. All existing machines are to be repainted including all the stencils. This resulted in some leftovers in undercarriages or wheel wells to retain the original black and white color. This Spitfire is apparently one of them.

I read that black and white was not for identification, but to make it difficult for the enemy's anti-aircraft gunners to aim.

In a way yes, the black color is actually "Night" color that is designed to be able to absorb searchlight. But overall, the scheme also works as quick identification for pilots and ground crew. The scheme also making a brief comeback with Overall Sky and half wing in Night color until April 1941 for day fighters.

No, there is another meaning here: by the size of the aircraft (wingspan) in the sight, the anti-aircraft gunners determined the distance to the target. Black-and-white coloring made it difficult, that's what they thought at the time.
