I think it is an Sci-Fi setting as it is in 28mm ( tabletop scale) and the soldiers are using laser rifles from Games Workshop 😉

You can do a lot of cool things with thoose tabletop miniatures and vehicles 😉.

Thanks for the comments, I'll address them as much as I can,
Holger, the weapons are bashed from what came with the figures and parts from other kits in the same line.
Steve, I thought long and hard about the setting and tried to pose them all showing some form of tension and anticipation of a bushwack around the next bend.
Stefen, correct in ID'ing the setting as Sci--Fi. For this kind of stuff the 28mm models are great for anything from near future to many thousand years into the universe. Also as you state there are lots of possibilities with the table top models. 28mm has come a long way from the metal figures that came out in the late 80's, now a lot of figures and vehicles are full fledged models in their own right just asking a modeler not a gamer to put them together properly. I like 28mm because it's between 1:35 and 1:48 scale and you are only limited by your imagination and not rivet counters in a build.
Everyone else, thanks again for the comments, I'll put the WIP pics of the weapons up later. I have one project going at the moment before I start up my HH-1K build, when it's done I'll post shots. You won't believe it's 28mm resin.

I usually build some Sci-Fi or Fantasy stuff in 28mm scale "in between" for the same reasons and to get rid of old colours that I cannot use on "regular" scale models.
