Blackburn Buccaneer S.2D

January 27, 2025Must be one of the most claustrophobic rear cockpits around.... 😉2
January 27, 2025And I've got a nice Quinta Studio instrument panel set for it3
January 27, 2025Dry fitting....
And I must say: the fit of this kit so far is sublime!4
January 27, 2025See how it looks on the shelf5
January 27, 2025....pretty massive o_06
January 27, 2025Quite lacking nose wheel well7
January 27, 2025Much better main gear well (very accurate actually)8
January 27, 2025There are decals on the sheet in the kit with belts (and there were none in the Quinta set: I got the cheap set), but this is much better :-P9
January 27, 2025Don't you think?10
January 27, 2025All the internal stuff ready for the first shots of paint11
February 2, 2025Seats painted and I did some wiring from the rear instrument panel which is attached to the front seat. They still need a bit of weathering though12
February 2, 2025See how it all fits 🙂13
February 2, 2025Packaging the exhaust pipes in the wheel wells before assembling14
February 2, 2025Main fuselage assembled 🙂15
February 5, 2025Airbrake pre-assembly16
February 5, 2025All the Quinta instrument panel stuff is glued in (that was a lot!)17
February 5, 2025That is one nice cockpit 🙂18
February 5, 2025It's starting to look like plane19
February 7, 2025In the mean time this little fella arrived 🙂 Schöpf F59 NATO tow tractor, sadly with quite some transportation damage to that brittle resin.20
February 7, 2025With everything attached it's not even thinking about becoming a tail sitter.... good! 🙂
Almost ready for painting21
February 8, 2025The paintshop just got a last minute extra customer 😉22
February 26, 2025Opening up some of the holes in the wing spars23
February 26, 2025The Schöpf F59 tractor meanwhile is nearing completion 🙂24
March 14, 2025And same for the Buccaneer: after being felled by with sciatica for a solid week, I finally laid the main coat down. And for once the Hataka paint was not acting up and covered the whole thing in a nice thin layer25
March 15, 2025Aaaand the detail painting also mostly done..... ready for varnish and then decals26
March 15, 2025Wheel well with the exhaust pipe also turned out nice....will still get some weathering27
March 22, 2025Decal time28
March 22, 2025Almost done: decals are on, leaving only the final clear coat and the finishing bits29
March 29, 2025One of the final annoyances: needed to make new locator pins, because the molded on kit pins were way too shallow to be able to align these tanks properly30
March 29, 2025Reveal time 🙂 <331
