I got this kit as a present from my family, and a few hours later my father passed away. 🙁 He wasn't a big fan of military assets, but liked aviation, and he was a glider pilot himself.
The diorama itself is rather artistic, not so much realistic. I think the choppers aren't armed anymore when their blades are folded back, and all the holes are covered, marked with "remove before flight" flags. But I don't have too much space in display cabinet, so folded blades are to go. But making all the empty pipes for the Hydra rocket launchers... nah! 🙂
The kit was really fun to build, jam packed with tiny details, but you have to plan ahead, and not just follow the instructions. How the joints of the folded blades come together, how the crain shall be mounted, here the instructions are pretty rough. And putting the blade holder together, position it in the correct way, that was a fussy job.
