Some very nice kits en a very nice paintjob hence the scale. A pitty that no cockpit detail is included. only available through aftermarket...

Thanks for the comment.
I thought a while of buying the aftermarket cockpits, but:
1: they're not particularly cheap
2: I doubt if you will be able to see anything anyway. The canopys are very small
I've never built in this scale before so it'll be exciting to see the result.

Very nice Spitfire Group Build
The painting is fine, clean and sharp. I much like it. Do you use masks to paint the camo pattern and which color do you use? About the cockpit, there are some aftermarket sets and a nice thin and clean canopy made by Brengun. Even it is tiny you can leave the cockpit door open and the canopy in open position. It will be an eye catcher at every modeling show.
Cheers, Christian

Thanks for all your nice comments!
@ Christian; Yes - I normally cut masks for the camo and did so on these little puppies too. I don't reuse the masks, cut one per plane and therefore you will see some difference between them. As I understand RAF used rubber-masks when they painted the real planes and therefore the lines shall be sharp. And in this small scale the lines shall be very sharp indeed!
I use almost only Gunze Acrylics. I think that they are superior to other marks I've tried, they are easy to airbrush, have very fine pigments and they don't clog the needle.
Thanks for the tips about the canopys, I will consider them if/when I build any more in this scale. 🙂

If you have cut the masks yourself, wasn't it an option to go for the A or B scheme (B is the mirrored camouflage from A) for some difference?

Bart; yes - could have done that of course. But I kind of went with the Eduard paint-description, and only this scheme is described there.

So, the little quadrupel is finished. I'm quite happy with them in spite of a couple of goofs...
Problem is; Christian Bruers comment got me thinking... It REALLY would look nice with door and canopy open to show a PE cockpit... Hmm, got to do this 🙂

Guido; Thanks for the kind comment 🙂
I've already ordered the Eduard PE-set and MkIXc-combo. Thought Eduards PE looked nicer than Brenguns. But I ordered the Brengun canopy-set. So, it's back to the small-scale again - we'll see who completes them first😉

The Brengun set is unpainted instead of eduards prepainted ones, but is a lot more detailed then the Eduard set... and i've thought it was cheaper also... nevertheless... enjoy the build, and pls show the results here..
