Superb build! Seems just to be waiting for pins removal and is ready to go! 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
20 March 2016, 18:11

Wonderful, I am deeply impressed -what an inspiring joy to look at this beauty!
20 March 2016, 20:55

Thank you very much chaps, I really appreciate your kind words. It's not that bad build after all 🙂
20 March 2016, 22:01

Just in time finish for the show?! You're looking proud but a little bit tired talking to the visitors.
Ah and as replied in your WIP 👍 👍 👍
Cheers 😄
21 March 2016, 05:42

Thank you very much mates 🙂
@Christian Yes, I was very tired, because I sat 24 hours straight on the bench trying to finish this. My club mates arrived in the morning and they had to wait in car in front of my house while I was gluing canopies 😄 Well, I made it after all.
21 March 2016, 06:14

I noticed you mentioned the 24 hrs session in your WIP. With the chaps just waiting in the car sounds like hard core modeling😄
I made it once finishing my USS Yorktown CV-10 for a modeling show painting and gluing approximately 400 scale 1/700 figures on the deck of the flat top the night before. Don't know how much flew of from my tweezers😄
21 March 2016, 06:25

Outstanding, David!
This is a real masterpiece, so beautiful!👍
I am already looking forward to have a close look to it at the Cheb Model Show this year.🙂
21 March 2016, 07:28

Man! Makes me want to not even bother with mine. That is some seriously good.work there.
23 March 2016, 01:53

23 March 2016, 06:23

Oh Donald, what an offer mate. 🙂 I won't be far behind you for some help and guidance on my second F-4.from David 🙂
23 March 2016, 07:17

David, you will be getting a friend request and I WILL take you up on that. LOL
I have this kit slated to go after I finish up my C-54 and Tornado.
24 March 2016, 00:50

@Elias, thanks mate 🙂 We'll see next month I hope.
@Donald, gotcha. We're all set😉
24 March 2016, 05:39

Just singing: " You're just too good to be true;
Can't take my eyes off of you" Excellent model!
24 March 2016, 12:18

Happy Easter to you all, and God bless what we are here on Scale Mates. 🙂 👍
24 March 2016, 21:34

Wow, that is some fine work. She looks great heavily loaded on the tarmac ready to go
26 March 2016, 04:57

Thanks mates. I've added studio pictures plus pics from below the Phantom.
28 March 2016, 10:11

Your attention to detail is simply stunning David, and I am more inspired than ever before to get mine as close to your standard as I possibly can. 👍 A tough call, but I will try. 🙂
28 March 2016, 11:52

@Kerry, thanks mate, but you're having a laugh I guess. I'm not even remotely close to your standard 😄
28 March 2016, 12:05

David. !! I never have a laugh at others work, and as for my success with a phantom, I have never built one I was happy with and that is why I am so pleased to see one that I can aspire to, seriously. 👍
I am ok with building kits, but it's my 'finishing off' is where I fall over, as I always seem to stuff it up somehow. 🙁
28 March 2016, 17:26

Wonderful. Build and finish are top tier. The stencils make a difference, too. 👍
6 April 2016, 19:36

great job !! vary nice, the detail is clear and sharp. I like the F-4, its a old friend. well done.
7 April 2016, 12:31

Kimagasló munka! Gratulálok! - Exceptional finish on that kit, congratulation!
7 April 2016, 12:41

David. Your Skills and your work ethic is beautifully displayed here. Simply outstanding in every way mate. 👍
2 October 2016, 09:11

Not sure if it is too late to ask, but how do the stencils work? Do you fit them and paint over them, then remove the protective film? Not seen these before and the results look brilliant. Thanks.
17 March 2017, 17:08

Well David. It certainly has taken some time to reach the end (or IS it. ?) But worth every bit of time for us and for you. The very best is what it is mate. 👍
SALUTE. 🙂
17 March 2017, 19:53

David, what a wonderful flying manual! Have you used the HUD foil (do you remember?)
18 March 2017, 13:18

Thank you guys. I'm glad this one still lives after a year of it's live on the shelf.
@bughunter This one has piece of clear foil😉
18 March 2017, 17:29

I have one on the way. If mine turns out HALF has nice I would be a happy man!!
24 January 2018, 10:41

Very nice David very nice! Great job on this early Vietnam Warbird! Great absolutely great!
24 January 2018, 18:57

Phantastic! Most wonderful and awesome! I think, This is the one of the most beautiful Phantoms -if not the most -I have ever seen; simply a masterpiece!
24 January 2018, 18:58

Beautiful job. I just ordered this set of markings for one of my spooks.
25 January 2018, 02:08

Cliff, thats the great thing about that kit. You get a bunch of markings. You can use them elsewhere. I plan on doing this plane as well at some point. Just have to use the kit decals for the generic stuff.
David, great job on this!
25 January 2018, 05:27

Wow, thanks mates. This build is quite old now, but it still gathers such a humbling appreciation. Many thanks once again 🙂
@Adam Gudynowski It was not quite stellar, but it was not bad either. What I would highlight was the beautifully molded compressor faces. Exterior needs some rescribing and polishing, bottom side required some filling and sanding too, but it was in range of basic modelling skills I'd say.
