FV432 with 30mm Rarden

My Dad is on the RHS of the Turret as you look at the photo consulting the map. This photo was taken in Sennelager, Germany in the early 1970's. He was in 1st Battalion Royal Irish Rangers.

I am only using the the kits front (driver & commander area) interior parts as the hull roof and back door will be closed and very little will be seen through the drivers hatch.

Accurate Armour supplies a new hull roof to receive the turret. Great fit by the way.

Having read a view reviews of the link and length tracks supplied with the kit not been the best I decided to purchase the Master Club Metal tracks with Worn Rubber Pads. The extra hours work are well worth it.

I decided to drill out the Turret and fit some crew figures. As the legs would be seen dangling, hence the back door been modelled closed.

I am using Valkyrie Miniatures " British Army of the Rhine" set. Trying my best to recreate the camo design of the 70's

Vehicle is finished. I have actually started another with a 81mm Mortar upgrade.

Figures fit great into the turret but had to cut a spare figure in half to add a waist and bum to the driver figure. The foliage is hand made.

Archer's British Army Rank Insignia decals were added to the crew in the turret. A sergeant and Lance Corporal were chosen.

Thank you Gorby & Gary. I enjoyed these builds and I am starting a 3rd FV432 this weekend, I hope. I have an upgrade set from Accurate Armour to display a FV432 Mk1

Cool, I have one for Christmas from my daughter, I was going to do a build centred around my military history but I am just going to build it OOB now I think. Hope it comes to a similar standard to yours (or anywhere near) not that I am using any aftermarket kits either, I have just completed an AA Ferret and am doing a Challenger ARRV from AA as well

Great Gary. They are getting very hard to get at the moment. They don't seem to be available anywhere in the UK, Ireland or western Europe. The new one I have I purchased in the Ukraine through this site. I do intend to build one OOB also but this is a little project i'm on. My dad is in his late 70's and still with us. He was in the British Army during the 60's & 70's and attached to 6th Armour. He commanded several of these "Wagons" as he calls them. I am trying to make the ones he has told me about. What regiment were you in? Are you Builds on here to have a look at?

Yes I only started again in lockdown 1 and I was originally in Grenadiers Guards then the Royal Military Police. But the stress fo the dioramas is pushing me to just build oob and enjoy instead

Yes, Dioramas can be a pain and it is easy to get bored and leave it aside for a while.
I have build a few aircraft for competitions and that can also be stressful. My wife says its a hobby and should be enjoyable!

Great! They give you a new Hull roof to fit as the mortar opening would be to big. It is meant to be displayed with the turret hatches closed. I drill them out which was a little pain. But as I wanted to display figures it need done. It's AA's conversion on the Mortar carriage 432 I did also and I'm about to start their Ambulance conversion on number 3, no 4 will have the scorpion miniatures Mk1 conversion kit.
