Thanks roland 🙂 It was an interesting kit never had to put 30+ parts into just an engine before lol
6 December 2020, 13:50

That's some great work Augie. Nice subject too. I built the old Model USA kit years ago for a family friend, & I could not believe this little guy flew in a modern combat environment.

Thanks Nathan, its surprising how good they were too at it, shame the instructions are not as good.

Fits a little "spicy" in places, other areas not so bad has to be said.

Nice! A cute little Cessna... Now she needs her twin "push-pull" sister...😉

Thanks Alex and Christian 🙂
Hey Mike! long time since I saw you around, hope you and Marina are ok and thanks 😄

Thanks Clifford, Nice little kit, but the donk is a nightmare.. 30+ parts and unless your going to display it, no really needed.
7 December 2020, 01:13

Well you know me, I would have to have everything hanging out in the breeze. I am actually going to close the canopy on the F-89, but I am putting pilots in it.
7 December 2020, 01:16

Its a Roden. Neat subjects, but not the best fit or decals. Nice work young lady!
7 December 2020, 01:22

Lol nice Clifford, makes me wanna start mine
Don, the fit is spicy.. the decals, are actually ok but you literally have to let them soak until they come off the backing paper, then apply them SOAKING wet.. then they go on ok, but otherwise they are bastards of the highest order.
7 December 2020, 01:38

I am going to get one, in the mean time I am going to tackle my first Roden kit. My OV-1 Mohawk, just waiting for the resin seats to come.
7 December 2020, 16:11

I guess I'm going to need it, I have heard horror stories about it. LOL.
8 December 2020, 23:10

Hehe well I will be watching closely.. I have my own one to do as well..
If its like the PC-6 I have seen.. we could be VSF..
8 December 2020, 23:39

I sure don't want to hear that. LOL. My main worry is where I am going to be able to stuff enough lead to get it to sit on it's nose gear. I guess what I can get in the nose, and the rest in the engine nacells.
9 December 2020, 00:04

With the nose and Nacells fingers crossed enough.. hey If I can get nearly 500g in the front of a B-25 and nacelles.. we should be ok
9 December 2020, 00:10

Roden kits are an issue because the lack of locating pins makes them a pain in the ass. I did the 141, and it was dicey getting everything lined up without screwing it up. When I do the C-124 from them, I will be making tabs to help with that.
And the decals SUCKED. Get after market and trash the ones in the kit.

I don't think there are to many aftermarket sheets for OV-1A's but will check around.
10 December 2020, 00:06

Hey Augie, beautiful job! I clicked the "like" button only because there's no "holy crap that's awesome" button
10 December 2020, 00:48

@ Don:- the decals are a little special but once you figure them out usable..
@ Chris and Spanjaard :- Thanks guys

Hi Augie, I've been commissioned by a friend to make a Bird Dog….is this one any good?
8 October 2022, 17:13

Hi Andy,
Its probably the best start you can have for one.
1) the fit is good but worth test fitting as I remember a few areas paint made the difference.
2) decals.. the ones with the kit are good, but they need soaking until they lift from the backing and have to be applied soaking else they stick hard.
8 October 2022, 18:23

Thank-you Augie. I will take your advice. I think we may use some different decals (his choice). Lovely build BTW.
8 October 2022, 21:29

Just got the photo etch and goodies for mine in the mail Sat. All I need now is some resin marking rockets and maybe some after market decals.
