this kit was produced in 1993 by Revell. I was elated to see this model, courtesy of Scalemate for their time line of AMT for this subject. I've built one other 'shoebox' model before, so I knew all about how the roll cage was a bear to assemble. I soon found that this kit is somewhat rare, seeing my initial search yielded only three kits...one kit had missing parts......one was sealed, but the price was substantial, and the last one{I found out} had already been sold. it took a couple of days until I came across this kit.....it had already been opened, but was stated that it was a complete kit. getting the kit, I found that a few assemblies had already been done......even the incorrect assembly of the differential, which after all this time, I had to correct. the model actually assembled quite well...the decals were the biggest issue, being as old as they were. the decals are thin and had a milky adhesive, the kind that would build up as the decal was slid off the paper. I would wipe the pathway with my finger before sliding it off. the long narrow molding images broke into pieces, and I had to piece them back together on the model. close ups reveals where the breaks are, but hardly show in normal view. I'm just happy that I was able to use them. I enjoy building older models because they show you what the medium looked like back in those days. some I found were very primative, but very glad to say the the gems are still out there. kinda makes you think......now, what was I doing back when this model was produced? I had stopped modeling.....took a ten year hiatus due to kids and life. I took up modeling again back in early 2000, and haven't looked back! crazy!
