Similarly, all parts removed from sprue, cleaned up, some sub-assembly including scant cockpit. Hardest part here is just proceeding without doing something about the totally absent cockpit detail and other errors or missing 'detail'. Caused me to vacillate a day. Ultimately, I've decided to just continue with it as is and use the model as the intended fast build mojo motivator and hand and eye back in assembly and painting refamil canvas as I have an Eduard Profipack version in the stash to build as the finished I-16 model I'd really like to achieve. In its war paint, stand off to the lay eye, it'll still look the part in the cabinet.
