On Feb 9, 1944, Bob Hoover was shot down on his 59th mission by ace pilot Siegfried Lemke of 1./JG 2, flying a Fw-190A ( A-7? ). Bob would become a prisoner and eventually steal a Fw-190 and fly it back to Holland. Mr. Lemke also survived the war.
