Personal interest:
The M53/59 saw use during the Yugoslav wars, by the Bosnian Serb Army, Yugoslav Army, Slovenian and Croatian forces. By this time, the M53/59 was not very effective for AA and was used in a ground fire support role.

Iraq had thousands of AA guns in service prior to Operation Desert Storm, including the M53/59. However, the usefulness of the M53/59 as an AA gun was quite limited by the 1990s, and it was instead used in a ground attack role. As such, the M53/59 was not a significant threat to Operation Southern Watch missions.
