The weather was ok today to try some outdoor pictures of the finished Pfalz D.III.
The pictures were taken 65 kilometres away from the airfield of the "Bayerische Militärfliegerschule 5" in Gersthofen - the place where the original photo was taken.

Your biplane shrinking machine is working as well as ever Bugsy. Another one to be proud of.

Thank you very much mates!
Dieter, the pictures are taken outdoor with two tripods.
I just added some pictures made in light tent.

This is a stunner Frank!! A gorgeous airframe and I absolutely love the paint scheme as well. Your typical eye for beautiful detail in all the right spots push this to your usual next level build. It is truly always a pleasure to watch one of your builds

I may not know much about WWI aircraft but I know a beautiful aircraft and model when I see one. Another stunner Frank.

Toll geworden!
Bin auch eine am Bauen, bin aber noch nicht soweit, wie du.
Will mir noch den Motor in 3D erstellen und drucken.

Hello mates!
I went on a hiking holiday straight after the release of the final album of this project. That's why I haven't replied here yet. I can make up for that now: many thanks to everyone for the kind words! ❤️️
In case you have not seen it: there is also an Work-In-Progress album attached to the project.

I just love the Pfalz D.III. You built a very beautiful rendition of it.

Oh, another set of comments. Thank you very much mates - highly appreciated ❤️️
Kyle, you have a mail!
Neuling, I invite you (and all others) to see this in real in Ried/Austria in October!

Fantastic, some day i will build a ww l plane. But for now i'm happy with looking at that build. 👍

Thanks!
This model will also be on display at the exhibition in Ergolding in September.

Sorry, I'm late 🙁
Even (what you call) oob an outstanding build, top work.
Your airscrews are always an "Augenweide", but this time I prefer a look from behind.
Pic 18: the mirror looks so shiny, as if you could shave yourself with it.
26 August 2024, 16:31

Thank you, gentlemen!
Christoph, I forgot to mention the mirror in the build report. I used a spare PE part to get an edge and applied a mirror foil in the middle, but that one looks too perfect. So I removed the foil and applied a drop pf Molotow Liquid Chrome, which looks more realistic.

Didn't know about any exsisting coloured photographs about this bird back from those times?! 😀 Simply spotless...
31 August 2024, 08:55

Thank you Ed!
Even more than 100 years ago, people could already see in colour 🙂 But I know what you are mean, so I inserted a b/w photo on second position.

Fabulous work! Nothing like getting the aluminum dope to look that smooth! Fantastic outcome!

Thank you very much! The thanks go to my beloved Alclad paints.
