Thank you Lucian for the photos, the photos are great. I love how you painted and weathered this aircraft, you have done a great job on my favourite Phantom colour scheme. I first saw this colour scheme on the AIRFIX release as USS FORESTAL.

I agree. This is hands down the most beautiful Phantom ever, and the fact that it is a re-engraved Monogram kit makes it even more special. Monogram did some great kits in its time, look at those shapes, just like the real bird! And the markings are significant too: the Be-Devilers are the longest serving Phantom unit in the U.S. Navy, 20 years of service with the F-4!

What a great job you have done on this A/C! Hope my "Good Morning Da Nang" will reach 10% of this outstanding build...

"Good morning, Da Nang" is an Academy kit re-boxed by Eduard, pretty much similar to the Monogram, but with the narrower spine and engraved panel lines. With regard to shape, in 1:48th the Monogram kit is the best, followed by Academy, with Hasegawa a poor third. Its downside is the fact that all panel lines are raised and need to be re-engraved.

Excellent work Lucian: rescribing, riveting, detailing, painting, decaling and weathering = top notch Sir! The most realistic NM - area on the rear bottom witch I've seen on a Phantom.

Album info

Originally, the kit was the F-4c/d variant which I upgraded to represent an accurate J version. All the details were re-scribed

The model was completed in 2009 and at that time there weren't any options for accurate F-4J main wheels. The ones supplied in the kit are fitted only temporarily and will be replaced with Eduard Brassin in the very near future together with the exhaust cans.
This model was presented at various shows modeling of Romania, together with his colleague 4j F-VF-191hasegawa. Photos were taken at shows or in their window at home. Both F-4 were completed in 2010 after a year of work.
