First of all, welcome back to modelling Franz, I was also very surprised how much modelling had changed in my absence. You seem to be doing exceptionally well with your first build and as I'm also into WW2 aircraft, I'm interested to see the result. Have fun. 🙂

I'll be watching with interest as I also just got this kit. It looks like a nice one.

This is my first attempt after 20 years of scale modelling absence. During this time the hobby I knew from my childhood had made an enormous evolution and I have to get familiar with all the different weathering techniques.
I am fascinated of these powerful propeller aircrafts of WW2 and I wanted to build these awsome cockpits shown at different sites, so the choice fell on an relatively cheap kit in 1:32 from Revell. I wonder how it would develope...
After a few month of pausing the build, I finally did the primary painting. I used Tamyia Grey Fine Primer and the Mr.Paint Airbrush Colors (the one from Slovakia) which are really awsome! All markings and numbers are painted using the Maketar paint masks. It was my first attempt to use paint masks for roundels and it worked fine so far. After applying a few coats of Mr.Paint gloss coat I wasn't satisfied with the result so I gave Alclad Aqua Gloss a try - and what should I say: it's perfect!
