Thanks Frank! It's a bit of a challenge for my limited skills with photo etch but you don't improve your game sitting on the bench. Thanks for the encouragement!

lots of work with that PE. you have enough PE to really master this skill. looking quite good IMHO

Looking great Peter! Keep up the good work! Hey does building a Sub have it's ups and downs??
5 January 2018, 14:37

Oh ..Thanks mate for the help on the Tiger questions I had, much appreciated!
5 January 2018, 14:41

You are a sad reflection on a lonely life Tim! I honestly don't know why I put up with you. That said however, building a sub has left me with a sinking feeling sometimes, but occasionally my wife insists I come up for air.
5 January 2018, 20:03

Don't get out of your depth with all that heavy metal. Looks fine Peter
5 January 2018, 20:07

It is a bit of an Enigma at the moment, perhaps I will take a deep breath and emerse myself this weekend.
5 January 2018, 20:09

LOL Peter! Yes I found out all about that, and other Tiger ID's. Apparently I'm the last one to learn about 131 in the museum! I should be ashamed, being German and all! LOL If your wife is insisting you come up for air...Occasionally,... you must be doing something wrong. LOl Sorry you left that door open!

Count me in Peter, looking good so far, would be nice to see this one going on. I am sure you will build an eye catcher at last.
Cheers

A lot of brass here, looking good so far 👍
By the way, is there any progress on your Bismarck?
14 January 2019, 13:44

Unfortunately not Christian. I am finishing the two bikes and then will do more on the DKS Bismarck. The Type VIIC is also on hold until I improved a bit with the PE. I think I have enough confidence to start again now. I get frustrated with the PE, so better to put it aside for a while and start again without the anger!!!!
Ships And boats I have no knowledge or so everything is guesswork and dead ends hence the frustration. The bikes and armour I do have a little knowledge on. Trucks SHOULD be "my" subject but that's work atm!
Moritz, you must have dug this one out of my wall, I am flattered you went looking! The boat has had extensive modifications to the tank flooding apertures, I wanted to make them look a bit more realistic, and, I might have bitten off more than I could chew at the time. I like the variety of subjects available, Alex G, Spanjaard and Marty Oostrom also share this weakness and I like to think I am closing the skills gap to these wonderful builders bit by bit with their help. Kerry Cox has been wonderful to me as well, he travelled 1000 kilometres to give me some guidance and I could never thank him enough. His skill level I could never hope to replicate, but, my Mates In Scale are always there for me. Thank goodness for Tim and his wonderful creation!

Nice words Peter. I am going to do this Sub with the Griffon set too. Maybe I can start in the next months, would be nice to see yours back on track too. Keep on the work your skills round the pe parts are looking pretty good in my eyes
14 January 2019, 21:47

Mind the gap! Heard that in London a lot when getting on and off the tube.
Thanks for mentioning me with Spanjaard and Alex. You just made my day! Or night as it is almost midnight over here.
If you need help chewing, just holler! Or biting. Wait a minute! You're cutting your teeth in shipbuilding. Has this got something to do with your sharkmouthophibia?
14 January 2019, 22:22

Thanks Moritz. My only advice is don't get advice from me! I am not armed with enough knowledge! Send me a PM when you start as I would like to follow you through from step 1!
14 January 2019, 22:25

thanks for your extremely kind word Peter.
when are you going to finish this one, you have quite an audience depending on you 🙂
15 January 2019, 21:29

Haven't given too much thought to it yet Lode. Stopped working on this before I broke down in tears. I will re-start again soon.
15 January 2019, 23:08

I am anxious waiting for the Rodney to sail! I will hide the Bismarck in the fog. Maybe the RN won't see me this time!!
16 January 2019, 02:39

Xerxes, Tim has just dug this up from the underground sub pens. It is sitting on my window sill where I put it a year ago. It will be finished this year, promise!
23 February 2019, 06:10

Ambitious Peter. A less than optimal Sopwith, Bismarck and this baby in this year? I'll tip me hat if you pull it off!
23 February 2019, 10:36

That's a swell thought Tim. Just give me a wave and I'll sea you later!
26 February 2019, 08:04

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, ................................. I got nothing!
26 February 2019, 09:18

Thanks Holly. I'll have to come visit and see the real thing one day!
26 February 2019, 11:42

On my wish list Holly! And the Type 21 isn't far away either is it?
27 February 2019, 08:47

Looking really excellent so far Peter... 👍 Fantastic Pe work... And take your time :
Good things needs time😉 except a special Airport in our german capital 🙂
27 February 2019, 08:55

Sorry Daniel, all lost on me. Berlin airport developments don't make news in the Outback! I actually put a hold on this project because I wasn't happy with my pe. The sub is sitting on my window sill in the hobby room calling me to "dive" back into it!!
28 February 2019, 06:36

and yes, Type XXI is not really far from Type VII (in australian standards, on your way back from grocery shopping)
28 February 2019, 10:01

Spanjaard, in a past life I had a Volvo F16 that was named "Long Distance Voyager". Makes me tired just thinking about it! 😉
28 February 2019, 10:32

i do not even want to think what you call long distance in trucking business in Australia!
