Nice to see one built. Sadly the white plastics comes through on the edges. Didn't you base coated it?

Since primers are hard to come by on my local hobby shops i had to choose which kits got it, but lesson learned, this and the RX-7 gave me problems, although when I sprayed the base coats it was fine, the white edges came out when I used gloss clear 😭

It looks like a pearl metallic. I painted a Camaro really dark green and was afraid that exactly that will happen. I painted a black base color. Then only a thin layer of the pearl metallic. That works out fine.
By the way: the green Firebird I have in process underwent the same procedure. The base color (original green) looked always thin on the edges. Then I used black and it turned out perfectly.
Sorry for you, regarding the lack of proper material.

Thanks for the heads up!! I'm learning which sprays work good without primer and which do! I learned this the hard way when I got the rx-7, the paint did not want to stick, had to remove the paint, sand it and start the process over 😭!

But with all the trouble it looks good. the finish is very shiny 🙂
Painting is always a gamble...some time it works like a homerun, sometimes not. I have three model "since years" where i had to start new, really close before the finish line...the had all bmf, clearcoat and ready for final assembly. that s****...but it is one part of our hobby :-D

Thanks!! I tried to be consistent but I have had the worst luck with Tamiya smoke and Testors custom gloss black, it's always 50/50 either it works or doesn't and right now I'm in the middle of removing the paint on 3 kits, but no problems with clear coats haha
