BMW K100...dressed as a K75
Commenti

it looks very nice (I must say do not know the difference between the K75 and K100 😛 )

Neither did I! I found the differences along the build process...motorbikes never sparked my interest. Since I built it however I've spotted a few of these around my city.
Thank you for your comment Spaanjard!

A friend came three days ago with a Tamiya 1:12 BMW K100. He asked for help building it as his uncle's K75. Well there are lots of differences that we had to ignore as there was no time for actual modifications, but if he was fine with it, why bother?
So we set off to build it as this K75. My friend had never built a model and we did it together in a pair of mornings, I enjoyed it and he did too I think!
The model was old but very nice to work on. It is more toy-like than other Tamiya kits I have built (all of these being aircraft, differences show).
The vinyl tire for the front wheel did not age well and was sticky...it broke during assembly. But some cyano, a lick of primer, and it seems that it will do... I don't know how it will age since I've read bad things about the long time behavior ouf the vinyl. We shall see.
