Hallo Ingmar - sieht von der Optik schon mal gut aus... Für mich sind unsere doch etwas unterschiedlichen Arbeitweisen interessant 🙂🙂 - Mike

thx for the nice comments. A little progress. Tools were painted. Something went wrong on the scull. But since it really should have a black background I'll get another attempt to get it right 😉

Great. Love the darker hatches. Btw. be glad, that you have skulls. My decalsheet came without any. Those evil, evil skulls... 😄

Thx. My sculs are also censored! Hard to recognice bad sculs from not so bad sculs? 😉 I used a photoetched stencil from eduard. But somehow the color disolved in one place....

Red skulls are finally done. I used eduard photo etched stencils, since the decals were censored in my kit. I'm quite happy with the result, but it wasn't easy to position the skull level and centered in the black background. Next will be the road wheels.

Think the brushed skulls are looking much more better than the decals...

After a long week with no time for modeling I got the decals applied and sealed with Future. Next will be the rubber on the road wheels and some fading with oils.

Like the StuG until yet - and have fun in painting the rollers😉 - It's always the work for a prisoner. But much more better than glue paper bags... 🙂

Thx! Wheels are done. It wasn't as bad as Mike suggested! Also painted the inner surface of the road wheels in polished steel. But if you put the wheels together you won't be able to see anything of it. In the only angle you can see this part, the light will be reflected away from you, so it just looks dark and you see no difference to the dark gray. I will definitely skip this step in the future (as I did in the past 😉 )

After a break for christmas shopping I finally managed to finish this project. What started as a quick build at Friedrichshafen Expo turned out as quiet nice StuG III B. I noticed to late, that the StuG B didn't have the "Zielfernrohr für Sfl", but who cares? I'm happy with the result and can now begin my preparations for the second Scalemates Meeting in March 😉

Exellent Stug. Minor weathering, Looks like brand new. Very nice figures as well.
6 January 2014, 20:33

Thx! Yes, I decided to cut back on weathering to depict a relatively new and clean StuG. Therefore the clean road as base. A clean StuG in the deepest mud isn't convincing.

Schöner Still nicht jeder kann ihn so gut Umsetzen. Oben herum wie neu so gut wie keine alterung , Fahrwerk nur leicht verschmutzt. Alles ohne langweilig zu wirken.Einfach schön weiter so Ingmar 👍

Hi Ingmar - 👍 ...und da frage ich mich schon wer von wem was lernen kann...😉🙂

Thx!
@ Martyn: Yes, figures completely painted in acrylics. Following the many guides on the internet and on DVD, but only using 3 highlights and 1 shadow.
@Gerald: Danke! Das freut mich sehr. Man kann sich ja sein Modell auch wunderbar kaputt altern 😉
@Mike: Ich würde sagen: Jeder von jedem...
