Probably this one was designated for French.
I know that 75 Marylands which were designated for French, but were signed over to the UK and maybe this was one of them.

I was actually flow by a french Pilot who wanted to escape the Vichy regime - Landed in Gibraltar and was later used by Adrian Warburton with modified equipment - I strongly recommend reading "Warburton's War: The Life of Maverick Ace Adrian Warburton"
