Superb job Gary! If it had weighted tyres, it could pass for the real thing.

Thanks my friend! Yeah, the tires. Ya know, it sounds kind of lame I guess, but getting the tires true and level is a real challenge for me in modeling. I have modified tires before to get that "weighted" look, and then had trouble getting the flat part to lay flat on the ground. I need to work on that I guess. Thanks again gorby. 🙂

Pretty as always. Job well done Gary.
I wish the tires were my only problem 😉

Thank you gentlemen! I'm glad you stopped by and had a look. I appreciate your generous comments too! 🙂
Yeah Spanjaard, a fresh new"look". After all, it is spring now (at least here in Texas 😉
James, I hear ya brother! Same problems I have with the tyres. 🙁
Ken, that base was the result of somewhat of a happy accident, or discovery I should say. I came across a spray can of car trunk paint in a bargain bin at an auto parts store. I hoped it would look sort of like asphalt or concrete and I'll be damned if it wasn't pretty close. I've had that piece of Masonite for years now and it's survived many photo sessions at airports!
Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement Erik!

Album info
This was my first Tamiya model. Built about 5 years ago, I have to say that all I had heard about its ease of construction was pretty much true. The upper side color is MM medium gray and the lower color is MM gull gray. I used the Tamiya decals and had no trouble with them. Here are a few pics of the Wildcat, taken at the airport. Thanks for looking!
