Very nice Thomas. How was the build? I have the same one from MPM in my stash. Looks nice so far. Will be one of my next projects.

Thank you mates! Build was good. Plenty of detail and original shape. I like the old Monograms. F-4J(now reboxed from Revell) is partly much better than Revells F-4F (... that i am working on). No Photoshop, it´s only a big mirror and black paper in the background (on balcony).

looks very realistic 👍 - I have the book written by the test pilot from North American. Made an interesting reading

Very well done! The subtle modulation in the black paint is fantastic, and really brings this model to life. Great job!
@Thomas Bischoff, you mention the book - I assume this is "Always Another Dawn" by Scott Crossfield? I had that when I was a kid, and wore it out by reading it so many times. I just found it again as a Kindle eBook on Amazon for only $4.00. I had to get it!

@Bill: correct - I read it several times and still have it although it's in German 🙂 There are also some interesting pictures in it

Thank you guys! That´s incredible interesting for me. Scott Crossfield is my favourite Pilot/Engineer of all times, too intelligent, too independent to become a member of the Mercury Seven. First man to reach Mach 2 in the Skyrocket. Over 80 he passed away in his private Cessna. RIP.

Holy Sh*** - looking several time at your pics I thought I am looking at the real thing! Your composing of black, gloss and weathering really sets it off!

I too keep coming back to look at this model. The realism is perfect for this scale, and it's so much more impressive knowing that you started with the Monogram kit. Scott Crossfield's death was quite tragic, and partially the fault of air traffic controllers who didn't let him know he was flying directly into severe thunderstorms. But he died doing what he loved, not all of us will have that opportunity.

Wow! I thought the album gathered pics of the 1:1 scale aircraft! Really good pics and perfect work. One more rare and nice aircraft!
